Scope of this policy

This policy describes the UnicodeSymbols.com web application in this repository: its public pages, character search, browser-based text tools, and email contact addresses. It does not describe the independent practices of standards publishers or other sites reached through outbound links.

Text entered into the utilities

Copy, inspection, normalization, and conversion calculations execute in the open browser tab. The application has no endpoint that receives the textarea value for those tools. The inspector may retrieve a static dictionary of Unicode names, but that request contains no pasted specimen.

Search requests and server records

When a visitor submits the character search, the query appears in a request to the site so matching results can be returned. Standard infrastructure logs may record the request path, timestamp, IP address, user agent, response status, and security events for reliability and abuse prevention. The public code sets no advertising or analytics scripts.

Cookies and local storage

The core experience requires no account and sets no advertising cookies. Current copy and diagnostic functions do not need persistent browser storage. Hosting or security infrastructure may use strictly operational controls outside the application, so deployed behavior should be rechecked whenever infrastructure changes.

Email and retention

Information voluntarily sent by email is used to understand and answer the message. Avoid sending confidential or identifying specimens. Operational records and correspondence should be retained only as long as reasonably needed for support, security, legal obligations, and service maintenance.
